| INFORMATION SHEET FOR IMMUNE ENHANCEMENT QIGONG WITH LEAS MARIA Basic Course Content: Level One of Immune Enhancement Qigong for Health Practitioners, students and interested community participants, DVDs and CDs available upon request. (Further info at end of this document) Immune Enhancement Qigong is a culmination of several ancient forms of Qigong to which is added the Taoist theories of the Moral Qualities of organ function and the five tongue positions for each of the Five Elements of Classical Chinese Medicine: Wood; Fire; Earth; Metal; and Water. Immune Enhancement Qigong trains students (as well as experienced doctors and practitioners), to experience directly and cultivate the Bioforce of the Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lungs and Kidneys in the Creative Organ Cycle, producing an exciting invigoration of stamina and self nourishment. Immune Enhancement Qigong is a deep vibrational experience of movements which generates flows of Bioforce into and through the subtle pathways of the body called Meridians. These Meridians are connected to the organs and their energetic functions. Continued practice of Immune Enhancement Qigong can promote strength, energetic balance and emotional harmony. A simplified version of this form was taught by Dr. Michael Wong who was brought out of retirement at age 86 to teach the form to Qigong Practitioners and doctors by the American Red Cross. Dr. Wong asked Leas to teach his form and she has added to it elements from Classical Chinese Medicine and Medical Qigong. Dr. Wong said he never had a cold or flu the entire 50 years of his acupuncture practice because he did Qigong 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. Basic Course Content for Immune Enhancement Qigong, Level One One Day Course This Introductory Level One course in Immune Enhancement Qigong is an intensive approach to Qigong in which students are introduced to Qigong in a step by step progression of the practice of each of the movements of the form. Breathing techniques are then added slowly to sequences of movements. This Qigong form promotes attunement to the natural world as it was originally perceived by Taoist Yogis and Martial and Healing Arts Masters. As Qi, or bioforce is trained to assimilate into the energy centers of the body, breathing opens pathways naturally that, when nourished, maintain the possibilities of good health. Through the various movements the practitioner learns to act as an “antenna” to collect energy from the Heavens (what is above us) and the Earth (what is below us) and feeds it into the main and subtle energy channels of the body. These energy channels and centers are the same ones that are linked to the nervous system and skeleton of the human body, the manipulation of which in Chiropractic corrects many physical ailments. Theories of the cultivation of different basic qualities of Qi are presented and the basic movements of the Immune Enhancement Qigong Level One form are accomplished. Discussion of the Creative Cycle of Qi or Bioforce is instructed. Suggestions for lengths of practice and duration are given. DVDs of the form are available for students to purchase to assist the learning of the forms. Weekend Seminars In addition to the One Day course content, the philosophy of the Creative Organ Cycle of the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine is thoroughly discussed and a meditation of the flow of the Qi as Bioforce from the Heart to the Spleen to the Lungs to the Kidneys to the Liver, and then back to the Heart is explored. Finally, the Qi is placed in the Tan Tien (the most important Bioforce depository in the Chinese system). The Cultivated Qi is also placed in the Heart area, to support the Shen or Spirit of the individual. The Weekend Seminar will include slide shows and lectures on the application of the Five Elements in the Chinese system to the five Yin Organs. The Heart is the Fire Element. The Spleen is the Earth Element. The Lungs are the Metal Element. The Kidneys are the Water Element and The Liver is the Wood Element. As a result of this training, the flows of Qi through the body connected to each organ and element is experienced more directly by most people. Original music, composed by Leas Maria, is presented with a slide show, which assists the students and practitioners to experience the connection of the organs and energetic functions of the Five Elements to which they are connected. These CDs may be purchased by students and practitioners for use personally or with patients and clients. Six or Twelve Week Course All the content in the Weekend Seminar is practiced more deeply. To this is added the ability to channel Qi as Bioforce specific to each of the Five Elements in the Creative Organ Cycle. This allows the practitioner to use the Qi of the each of the Five Elements for an extended period of time to assist thorough learning of the nature and complexity of the Qi. The flows of Qi through the Extraordinary Meridians is taught through lecture and direct experience of the flows. Balancing the flows in the Extraordinary Meridians is practiced and provides a unique training ground of direct experience which improves stamina and energy. Qigong which promotes flows through the Extraordinary Meridians is instructed through several forms of Qigong.
